BEST IDEA AWARD FOR THIS ISSUE 🏆

Baumann Capital on Dassault Aviation 🇫🇷

Specializes in the design, manufacture and sale of combat aircrafts and executive jets.

Dassault also owns 26.6% of Thales, the French defense and aerospace heavyweight, which it effectively co-controls with the French state.

Thales contributes roughly half (!) of Dassault's net income. More on Thales later, because it deserves its own chapter, whether you like it or not.

What really stands out is Dassault's order book: €45 billion of orders against €7.4 billion of sales. That's around six years of work, already contracted with governments and backed by substantial down-payments, waiting for its turn on the assembly line.

I don't know of many defense peers that come close.

A round-up of the best ‘fresh-off-the-press’ stock pitches…
